History -

World Tuberculosis Day has been observed annually on March 24th since 1982, commemorating the date when Dr. Robert Koch announced his discovery of the tuberculosis (TB) bacterium in 1882. Koch’s discovery paved the way for diagnosing and treating TB, which had been a major cause of illness and death in Europe at the time.

In 1982, the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) and the World Health Organization (WHO) established World TB Day to raise public awareness about the global epidemic of TB and the efforts needed to control and eliminate the disease.

Recently, India celebrated Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba. These festivals of the spring season mark the beginning of the traditional new year in India.

Chaitra Sukladi:

It marks the beginning of the new year of the Vikram Samvat also known as the Vedic [Hindu] calendar.

Gudi Padwa and Ugadi:

These festivals are celebrated by the people in the Deccan region including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Cheti Chand:

Cheti Chand is the new year festival of the Sindhi community.

Vaishakhi:

It is also pronounced as Baisakhi, observed by Hindus and Sikhs.

Navreh:

Navreh is the Kashmiri New Year’s Day.

Sajibu Cheiraoba:

It is considered one of the most important festivals of Manipur.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an Indian multinational that specializes in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services, has signed a binding agreement with McPhy Energy.

The agreement establishes a long-term partnership between the two companies to explore opportunities in the emerging green hydrogen market.

Specifically, L&T and McPhy Energy will collaborate on electrolyzer manufacturing, which is a key technology for the production of green hydrogen.

As part of the partnership, McPhy Energy has granted L&T an exclusive license to use its pressurized alkaline electrolyzer technology for manufacturing electrolyzers, including future upgrades.
