Ramesh Bais has appointed as the new Governor of Maharashtra after the resignation of Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari stepped down after a sour relationship with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by Uddhav Thackeray.

Ramesh Bais has earlier served as the Governor of Jharkhand.

President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari was appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra in 2019.

Koshyari has been on sour terms with the MVA government, including Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP.

Some of the previous Maharastra governor’s statements have triggered controversies in the state.

About Ramesh Bais -

Ramesh Bais is an Indian Politician who is currently serving as the 23rd Governor of Maharashtra.

Bais earlier served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2021 to 2023 and the Governor of Tripura from 2019 to 2021.

He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and has served in various political capacities throughout his career, including as a Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Bais has been elected seven times to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, representing the Raipur constituency, including serving as a member of the 9th Lok Sabha (1989) and 11th to 16th Lok Sabha (1996-2019).

World Radio Day is celebrated every year on February 13 to mark the important role that radio plays in our lives and in society.

The objective of World Radio Day is to raise public awareness of the importance of radio and to encourage decision makers to use it.

Inventor of Radio -

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to inaugurate the three-day event’ the 12th World Hindi Conference on 15th February at the Pacific Island nation.

The 12th World Hindi Conference, scheduled to be held at Nadi from 15th February to 17th February 2023, will be on the theme "Hindi – Traditional Knowledge to Artificial Intelligence".

The conference will be spread over one plenary session and ten parallel sessions on topics such as Hindi in Girmitiya countries, Hindi in Fiji and the Pacific, Information Technology, and Hindi in the 21st century.

It also includes topics such as Media and the global perception of Hindi; global reference to Indian knowledge traditions and Hindi; Linguistic coordination and Hindi translation.

The conference will feature exhibitions on the evolution of Hindi. Indian Council for Cultural Relations has also proposed cultural programs and Kavi Sammelan.

World Unani Day is observed on February 11 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of social reformer and renowned Unani scholar Hakim Ajmal Khan, widely regarded as the pioneer of Unani medicine in India.

The day commemorates Hakim Ajmal Khan’s contribution to the growth of Unani medicine in India and throughout the world.

Hakim Ajmal Khan, who was born on February 11, 1868, was an educator, a Unani physician and the founder of scientific study in the Unani system of medicine.

On February 10 and 11, the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, host an international conference on Unani medicine in a hybrid virtual mode with the theme "Unani Medicine for Public Health" in Delhi.

The establishment of the Unani medical system in India was significantly shaped by Hakim Ajmal Khan.

He had a keen interest in the growth and advancement of the Unani system of medicine and established three significant institutions, including the Central College in Delhi, the Hindustani Dawakhana, and the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, also known as Tibbia College, located in Karol Bagh, Delhi.

The state government of Maharashtra has announced that renowned social worker, preacher and reformer Dattatreya alias Appasaheb Dharmadikari will be honoured with Maharashtra Bhushan award for the year 2022.

The Maharashtra Bhushan award comprises a medal, a citation and Rs 25 lakh, which will be conferred to Appasaheb at a function later in the year.

Appasaheb was honoured with Padmashri in 2017.

Maharashtra Bhushan -

The Maharashtra Bhushan is a highest civilian award presented annually by the Government of Maharashtra State in India.

When the Shivsena- BJP alliance came to power in 1995, it proposed to institute this award.

The Maharashtra Bhushan was first awarded in 1996.

It was initially conferred in every years in the fields of Literature, Art, Sport, and Science.

Later the fields of Social Work, Journalism, and Public Administration and Health Services were included.

The award is presented for outstanding achievement in their field.
