Former Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli passed away.
Kohli was the 19th governor of Gujarat from 2014 to 2019.
While presiding as Gujarat governor, he also served as the governor of Madya Pradesh and Goa.

BVR Subrahmanyam appointed NITI Aayog CEO
Former Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam has been appointed as NITI Aayog’s CEO while the think tank’s current CEO, Parameswaran Iyer, has been appointed as World Bank’s Executive Director.
Subrahmanyam is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre and holds a management degree from London Business School.
The Centre had scrapped Article 370 when Subrahmanyam was J&K’s Chief Secretary.
Iyer’s appointment will be for a period of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders.

India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur has created history by becoming the first-ever cricketer to play 150 T20I matches.
India’s ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 match against Ireland is Harmanpreet’s 150th T20I.
Harmanpreet is followed by Team India captain Rohit Sharma, who has played 148 T20I matches and former New Zealand Women captain Suzie Bates, who has played 143 T20Is.
The Indian captain is leading the Women’s in Blue in the 2023 T20 World Cup.
Harmanpreet made her debut in the shortest format in 2009 against England during the first edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Since then, she has played 150 games in which she has scored 2993 runs at an average of 27.97, including one century.
Harmanpreet has been India’s T20I captain since 2018, and the 2023 edition is the third time, she is leading India in the marquee event. India and Singapore have launched a joint digital payment mechanism enabling residents of both the countries to make easy and faster cross-border transactions.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) of India and PayNow of Singapore have made a tie-up to facilitate these transactions.
The facility was jointly launched by Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das and Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Ravi Menon.
Now people can transfer money with their mobile phones in a cost effective, swift and faster manner.
Professionals, students among others will benefit with this payment mechanism.

Dmitry Dmitruk appointed as coach of Indian boxing team for next two years
Boxing Federation of India (BFI) appointed veteran coach Dmitry Dmitruk as the Indian boxing team’s foreign coach for the next two years.
Before taking up the role in India, he was the high performance coach of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA) as well as the Irish National Junior and Youth Teams for the last 12 years.
The 47-year-old played a key role in elevating Ireland boxing team’s performances and nurturing young talent over the course of his stint in Ireland.
He has coached notable boxers such as Joe Ward to World Championships silver medals in 2015 and 2017 and Grainne Walsh to a bronze at the 2019 European Games.
As part of the Irish boxing team’s coaching staff, he contributed significantly to the qualification of the country’s boxers for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Rajesh Rai has been appointed as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Indian Telephone Industries Limited (ITI Ltd), a PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The Central Government has approved his appointment.
